Summer Reading Program... Coming Soon

Let's get excited about this summer and run over to the base library on the 1st of June to register for the Summer Reading Program. Ages 4 through 12 can earn fun incentives and great prizes!!! Getting excited yet?!
This year we are kicking up sand with our Voyage to Book Island Summer Reading Program starting on the 24th of June with the comic magician Jolly Roger!

Calling All Artists

The Luke AFB Library is currently recruiting artists for the 8th annual Just for Fun Art Show in August 2010. Submit your paintings, drawings photography, metal art, sculpture, pottery, and fine jewelry by July 15. Photos, drawings, and paintings must all be ready to hang with frames, mats, and hangers.

There is no age limit. Children and young adults are encouraged to show their creations as well as active duty, family members, retirees, civilian employees of Luke, reservists, and National Guard. For more information call the library at 623-856-7171 and ask for Janice.

TV Turn Off Week!

OK, people we want to know if you are up for the challenge... That right we dare YOU to go a whole week with no TV of any kind! That means no video games, movies, Internet surfing or channel viewing for a whole week! THIS WEEK!

Look at this as an opportunity to catch up on your scrap booking, bird watching, mountain hiking, spring cleaning, craft making, ballet dancing, soccer kicking, book reading, and any other activities ending in "ing" that you can think of.

National Library Week
